Resident Evil 7: The end is here

Hier der Text:

Zitat

The VP of Capcom spoke about RPS and Resident Evil at the DICE summit earlier on in the month and talked about how foundations had been laid down with clues about Resident Evil 7. He said: “I wouldn’t say [we released] too many. Revelations, Operation: Raccoon City, and Resident Evil 6. So it was a lot in 12 months. And then we’re bringing Revelations to consoles and PC in a few months. But after that, you’re going to see us scale back, take stock of what worked and what didn’t work, and think about what the future of the franchise is.” Critics and fans weren’t too keen on Resident Evil 6 when it was first released and the game which had originally been predicted to sell around 7 million copies saw sales drop by 2 million. The game sold alright when it was first released, but sales then slowed down. The game is currently sold at Best Buy and other retailers for roughly $19.99. Fans stated that the game wasn’t similar to to horror and survival games that they had previously played. A number of fans believed it was much like Call of Duty. The game wasn’t scary enough and several people believed that as the game has three storylines it becomes confusing. Svenson said: “Well, you have to understand, we have a couple different sets of Resident Evil fans. We have those who love Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, Code Veronica, and Zero, and then we have those who came along during the RE4 era and like things a little more action-oriented, and RE5 even more [action-oriented]. And then RE6 was even more action-focused than that. “The hard part is taking all these things and figuring out how to make something for everyone. That was especially the aspiration of RE6. I don’t know that it worked out exactly the way we hoped, but moving forward, I think you’re going to see a bit more focus – as opposed to trying to be all things for all people.” Fans are now hoping that more attention will have been given to developing Resident Evil 7. There have been rumours that the game won’t just consist of a mix of shooting, horror, vehicle and action sections. This is the aim so lets hope it’s accomplished. It that’s not the case then Resident Evil 7 has no chance of being successful. Resident Evil Revelations was released on the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and the Wii U on 21st May.
